Cable Testing

Electrical cables are generally ignored for good reason: they rarely fail. However, for facilities counting on maximum uptime, a regular cable testing regimen is highly recommended, simply because the failure of critical circuits can cause extensive and long-lasting outage.

For circuits over 1000 Volts, ECA adopted the recommendations of IEEE 400 on very low frequency (VLF) cable testing over a decade ago. Our in-house licensed professional engineers can help interpret the results of VLF tests, and chart a path to incorporate recommendations into a long-term maintenance plan.
